Sixers’ Tyrese Maxey named Eastern Conference Player of the Week
Maxey averaged 32.3 points, 8.7 assists, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.7 steals in his team’s three victories.
PORTLAND, Ore. — Tyrese Maxey has been named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week, the NBA announced Monday.
It is the second career weekly honor for the 76ers’ All-Star guard, who averaged 32.3 points, 8.7 assists, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.7 steals in his team’s three victories over the San Antonio Spurs, Boston Celtics, and Utah Jazz last week. Maxey shot 46.5% from the floor and 39.4% from three-point range during that stretch, and made five three-pointers in two of those three games.
“What it really means to me is that we’re winning games,” Maxey said following the Sixers’ 125-103 victory at the Portland Trail Blazers. “And we’re doing it the right way.”
