No answers for Zion Williamson, Seth Curry fails to score, ‘Mentally weak’ effort | Sixers vs. Pelicans Best/Worst

Williamson finished with a game-high 37 points, a career-high 15 rebounds, and eight assists.

NEW ORLEANS — Well, that was ugly.

The 76ers came to Smoothie King Center and received an up-close view of The Zion Williamson Show. Williamson did whatever he wanted against the Sixers in the New Orleans Pelicans’ 101-94 victory.

Here’s a look at the best and worst awards from Friday night’s game.

Best performance

Williamson gets this. The point forward finished with a game-high 37 points, a career-high 15 rebounds, and eight assists. He dominated every player the Sixers assigned to guard him.

Worst performance

Seth Curry gets this. The Sixers shooting guard was held scoreless for the third time this season. He missed all seven of his shots, including two three-pointers.

Best defensive performance

Steven Adams gets this. The Pelicans center finished with three blocks and three steals. After picking up two early fouls, he did a solid job on Joel Embiid.

Worst statistic

This goes to Seth Curry failing to score for the third time this season. The Sixers shooting guard missed all seven of his shot attempts.

Best statistic

You have to give this to the Pelicans outscoring the Sixers, 66-34, in the paint.

Worst of the best

As Doc Rivers said, the Sixers were “mentally weak” against the undermanned Pelicans. They lacked intensity from the start and couldn’t match New Orleans’ physicality.
