It looks like Happy Valley will enhance its reputation as the nation’s wrestling capital.

USA Wrestling’s procedures for selecting the 2020 Olympic team, recently published on the U.S. Olympic Committee’s website, include the news that Penn State will host the Olympic team trials on April 4 and 5 of next year at the Bryce Jordan Center.

A USA Wrestling spokesman didn’t officially confirm the news, but said an announcement would be coming soon.

Coached by Olympic gold medalist Cael Sanderson, Penn State wrestlers have won eight of the last nine NCAA team championships, including the last four.

Graduating Nittany Lions Jason Nolf and Bo Nickal, who won the 2019 Hodge Trophy as the outstanding collegiate wrestler, are both expected to compete for Olympic berths.
