Pete Davidson spent the weekend with the Eagles and the Sixers. Does this mean he’s a Philly guy now?
The Staten Island born and bred comedian was spotted at the Kelce's Christmas party, hugging Jordan Mailata at the Linc, and repping Big Dom while sitting courtside at the Wells Fargo Center.
Is the self-proclaimed king of Staten Island on his way to becoming an honorary Philadelphian?
Former Saturday Night Live cast member and ex-lothario Pete Davidson was spotted mingling with Philly sports royalty this weekend, packing in a Sixers and Eagles games, as well as a party with the Kelces.
Davidson attended Jason and Kylie Kelce’s Christmas party, where he was spotted playing the kazoo onstage as Eagles offensive tackle Jordan Mailata and Kelce covered Wham!’s “Last Christmas.” The shindig was held in honor of A Philly Special Christmas Party, the third charity holiday album from Kelce, Mailata, Lane Johnson and friends. The album — which is looking to sell enough copies to give every Philadelphia School District student a present this year — had the biggest sales week of any holiday album since 2020 when it was released last month.
That same night, Davidson sat courtside with Diplo as the Sixers fell to the Indiana Pacers at the Wells Fargo Center, suffering like the rest of us as he saw Rookie of the Year contender Jared McCain get sidelined indefinitely with a meniscus tear. The comedian repped Big Dom — the Eagles’ chief security officer — on a hoodie from local streetwear brand Art History 101.
The Northeast Philly brand has received “hundreds” of pre-orders for The Godfather-inspired sweatshirt that ships out in January, according to Art History 101 owner Jay Pross.
“My phone just exploded with messages,” said Pross. “It’s the hottest thing right now.”
So how did Davidson get his hands on the unreleased merch? When Pross and a friend were at the NovaCare Complex Thurday to drop off sweatshirt samples to Dom “Big Dom” DiSandro himself, Davidson Facetimed Pross’ friend. The comedian, it turns out, is a fan of the security guard.
“Pete was like, ‘I need it. I’m gonna wear it,’” Pross recalled before arranging to pass the sweatshirt along to Davidson before the Sixers game.
Then on Sunday, Davidson bopped around the Linc in a black puffer jacket as the Birds scored their 10th straight win this season against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
“My uncle is going to have a … heart attack,” Davidson said while posing in one of the Eagles’ Super Bowl rings for an official NFL TikTok. Later on, he bro-hugged Mailata on his way off the field.
“Catch me up. Why Davidson is a Philly guy all of a sudden?” one poster asked on X.
Honestly, we don’t know.
The born-and-raised New Yorker was a semi-regular at New York Knicks games until last year he got into an altercation with an attendee who attempted to hug Davidson while he was posing with fans in the stands at Madison Square Garden.
Davidson is also a major New York Giants fan: Davidson and former Giants quarterback Eli Manning used to run a finsta (re: fake Instagram account) together in 2022 after taping an episode of the former football player’s YouTube show.
If Davidson ever gets tired of the Giants losing, there’s a spot with his name on it in the back of the kelly green bandwagon. It’s a lot of fun … just ask Saquon.
