What I Do
I am a former chef and restaurateur. I write stories about food, chefs, and restaurants, and examine the systems and structures behind them.
My Background
I am a food writer at The Inquirer. I spent seven years as the owner and operator Poi Dog, a food truck and restaurant in Philadelphia before closing both during the pandemic and turning the brand into a retail sauce business.
Prior to joining The Inquirer, I was a senior editor at New York Magazine's The Strategist, covering kitchen and dining. I was also a frequent contributor to the Guardian and Food and Wine, among other publications.
I graduated from New York University with a bachelor's degree in comparative literature, and I have two master's degrees, in classics and in comparative literature with Italian.
