A mini electric car that ‘eats’ metal and ‘breathes’ air

In his University of Pennsylvania lab, engineer James Pikul and colleagues made this electric car that runs without batteries. It draws energy from its surroundings, by “eating” metal and “breathing” air. Pikul says the idea could be used in small robots or in generators during power outages.
