Longtime Fishtown residents remember impact of St. Laurentius church as demolition begins

After a lengthy fight over the building's future, workers began the slow process of demolishing the historic Roman Catholic church by hand in mid-August. The church was built in the 1880s with donations by Polish immigrants.
