Counting down the 25 best Eagles to ever play in the Super Bowl: 20-16
On Monday, we unveiled the first five names on our list of the the 25 best Eagles players to ever play in a Super Bowl based on their performance in the big game. That means only members of the 1980, 2004, 2017, and 2022 teams are eligible (sorry, Saquon Barkley). Now, the countdown continues with Nos. 20-16 ...
20. Fletcher Cox, defensive tackle
Before retirement, Fletcher Cox played in Philly for 12 seasons. The six-time Pro Bowler made two Super Bowl appearances, helping the team win their only title to date in 2017. Cox recorded one tackle and two quarterback hits in that game.
19. Donovan McNabb, quarterback
If this was based on entire careers, Donovan McNabb, who led the team to five NFC championship games and a Super Bowl appearance (2004), would be much higher. But the six-time Pro Bowler threw three picks and struggled on the final drive.
18. Harold Carmichael, wide receiver
Hall of Famer and four-time Pro Bowler Harold Carmichael played 13 seasons with the Eagles, earning four straight playoff appearances. He helped lead the team to its first Super Bowl in 1981, where he recorded five catches for 83 yards.
17. Nelson Agholor, wide receiver
Before he became a meme, former first-round pick Nelson Agholor caught nine passes for 84 yards in the team's Super Bowl win over the Patriots. Agholor, who played five seasons with the Eagles, was Nick Foles' favorite target in that game.
16. Brian Westbrook, running back
Eagles Hall of Famer Brian Westbrook played eight seasons with the Birds. In their 24-21 loss to the Patriots in 2005, the two-time Pro Bowler recorded 44 rushing yards and 60 receiving yards, but was mostly held in check.
