The 76ers still have a ways to go before becoming a contender. Tyrese Haliburton continued to rain threes. And Guerschon Yabusele is in a funk. Those three things stood out in the Sixers’ 121-107 loss to the Indiana Pacers.

The Sixers had an opportunity to improve after winning four of five games. And they played well after Joel Embiid left the game with a second-quarter head injury. However, the Sixers were unable to get timely stops when it mattered most.

It also became noticeably obvious that the Pacers had a superior roster. The Sixers did defeat a talented Orlando Magic team on Dec. 6. But their other recent victories came against the struggling Detroit Pistons, Charlotte Hornets and Chicago Bulls. This was supposed to be another barometer game. And they fell short.

Haliburton was in a zone from deep. The point guard made 7 of 15 three-pointers while scoring a game-high 32 points. And it didn’t take long for him to put his imprint on the game. Haliburton scored 12 first-quarter points.

Yabusele is in the midst of a tough two-game stretch. The Sixers power forward had four points on 0-for-3 shooting while playing just 14 minutes, 5 seconds against the Pacers. This comes after he had four points on 2-for-5 in 13:40 Sunday.
