Dalessandro’s named your favorite cheesesteak

The results of our bracket are in. How did your favorite fare?

Two weeks ago, we put 16 Philly cheesesteak shops in one bracket and asked you to choose a champion. More than 12,300 votes later, the answer is clear: Dalessandro’s has won it with nearly 23% of the vote.

Dalessandro’s is an old-school classic, but that’s not all it takes to make a champion (see Pat’s and Geno’s). Despite its long lines, the Roxborough shop is beloved by locals and tourists alike. Congrats to the champs.

  • Pat’s bested Geno’s in their first round matchup, earning about 58.5% of the vote. We now know Philly’s Cheesesteak Vegas favorite.

  • John’s Roast Pork had the most dominant first round performance, beating Philip’s Steaks with 82% of the vote.

  • Angelo’s Pizzeria, which won last year’s Italian Hoagie Bracket, finished third overall, though technically lost to Jim’s Steaks in its 1-on-1 matchup – with Jim’s picking up 57% of their first round matchup.
