For those of us lucky enough to have maternal figures in our lives — mothers, grandmothers, aunts, close family friends, godmothers — Mother’s Day is our chance to celebrate and show our appreciation for all they do.
Around Philadelphia, you can treat her to everything from a post-winery brunch flower fest to a baking class with her besties. Set sail together on a brunch cruise and take in the skyline, or call on Lady Luck during a play day at a local casino. The following 18 dining options are planned for May 8 unless noted otherwise. Heritage
In addition to its regular weekend brunch offerings, Heritage in Northern Liberties will add several special Benedicts including prosciutto, crab, and a vegetarian avocado. For $45, a make-your-own-mimosa kit includes a bottle of sparkling wine and choice of two juices, allowing you to tweak your own drinks at the table. Local pianist and jazz singer V. Shayne Frederick will perform, making the dining experience even more festive.

Fete Mom with a luxurious seafood spread (and more) at Sofitel Philadelphia at Rittenhouse Square. Offerings include a raw bar with jumbo cocktail shrimp, oysters, and clams; appetizers such as grilled vegetables and an artisan cheese board; entrées like pan-seared cobia, chicken breast, and braised short ribs; desserts, even a Bloody Mary bar.
