Chef catches a winning shark
Patrick Feury of Nectar reels in a 280-pound mako.
Like lots of local chefs, Patrick Feury of Nectar in Berwyn enjoys fishing.
Last month, he and his buddies won a trophy for it.
At Star Island Yacht Club & Marina's 28th annual Shark Tournament, off Long Island, his boat, the Alyssa Ann, reeled in first place for the heaviest mako - 281-pounder. (Uh, oh. Better get mako.)
Feury said the shark fought for 40 minutes, followed by a half-hour's getting it on board alive.
The shark meat was donated to the Long Island Council of Churches.
