Two Pa. restaurants make OpenTable’s ‘Most Romantic Restaurants’ list

When it comes to booking a romantic dinner for Valentine's Day, us Pennsylvanians have it a little easier than folks in most states, considering our home state is also home to a couple of the most romantic restaurants in America, according to OpenTable.

The online restaurant reservation site on Wednesday released its list of the "100 Most Romantic Restaurants in America," and included two Pennsylvania restaurants on the list: Arielle's Country Inn in Sellersville, and the Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm in Holicong. Both are located in Bucks County.

OpenTable created the list using data from more than 10 million reviews on the site collected between Dec. 2015 and Nov. 2016, according to a release. The site scored restaurants based on the percentage of reviews that marked "romantic" as a special feature for a given eatery.

Arielle's Country Inn was constructed in a historic stone building that was built in 1754, according to the restaurant's website. The restaurant is currently headed up by chef Jacques Colmaire, and serves steaks, seafood, and pasta. Its "romantic, candlelit" dining room also features a fireplace and bar.

Similarly, the Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm, which was on last year's list, is located on a property dating back to the 1700s. Here, however, that property sprawls across 100 acres of forests and farms. Executive chef Josh Homacki focuses on contemporary American cuisine with a menu that includes Atlantic octopus with watermelon and mint, to ricotta tortellini.

In addition to the Pennsylvania restaurants, the Franklinville Inn and Café Matisse in New Jersey also made the cut. Café Matisse was also included on last year's list.

This year represents a slight drop in Pennsylvania restaurants considered to be the "most romantic" by OpenTable users. Last year, Pa. boasted three inclusions on the list: Bistro Romano in Society Hill, the Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm, and the Duling Kurtz House in Exton.
