Bringing back Burg's in Point Breeze - as a 'Hideaway Lounge'

Developer Ori Feibush has added "bar owner" to his list of Point Breeze holdings.
Tonight (12/6) at 5 p.m. comes the opening of Burg's Hideaway Lounge at 21st and Federal Streets. If the "Burg's" name at that address sounds familiar, that's because Burg's Lounge - a neighborhood shot-and-beer - enjoyed a 35-year run there before it closed at the end of 2012 with the retirement of Ralph Burger. Its next occupant, after a pricey reconstruction, was the short-lived Buckminster's, which billed itself as a "neo-bistro."
Neo-nothing at Burg's.
Feibush, working with restaurant consultant Jonathan Makar of Rockaway Consulting (and formerly of Snackbar in Rittenhouse), says he is aiming at the neighborhood with a solid bar setup and an utterly simple menu, limited to a cheeseburger and four other snack-type dishes, a couple of sides, and a few desserts.
Edsel Design worked with much of the Buckminster's look but added a communal banquette for seating up front near the bar.
Hours are 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. daily, with happy hour from 5 to 6 p.m. weekdays.
Beer specials include Neshaminy Creek Croydon Cream Ale ($3 a pint), 2SP Delco Lager ($4.50), and Sly Fox O'Reilly's Irish Stout ($4). Also on tap are Oskar Blue IPA, Yards Brawler, Half Acre Pony Pils, Pizza Boy Simcoe Samurye, Perennial Meriwether Saison, Bullfrog Funny Farmhouse Cider, Ballast Point Victory at Sea Imperial Porter, and Lagunitas Aunt Sally American Wild Ale.
