Chef Sylva Senat has left Tashan
He says he was fired.
Chef Sylva Senat, has left Tashan, the high-end Indian concept created by Tiffin founder Munish Narula.
In an email, Senat wrote:
"It is with great sadness that I inform you my tenure at Tashan has been cut short. At time it seemed my ambitious ideas of fine dining, service-food-wine-menu creativity conflicted with unnecessary egos instead of professional budgeting and proper financial forecasting. So for that, I was given two [options]: Resign or get fired." Because of conflicting Non-compete agreement I had no choice but to get fired.
"I will now take a short time to myself to reflect and search for a new endeavor be it a restaurant or consulting. I thanked all of you for sharing this latest journey with me and looked for you in the future.
"From a chef that helped built and layed out a restaurant from a vanilla shell, I am forever emotionally attach to that restaurant.
I wish Tashan, the staff and the Narula family continued success in all their endeavors."
Narula, who declined to talk about Senat's departure, said Kirti Pant, brought in to create his brand-new Tiffin Bistro, is the chef at Tashan.
Pant's background includes Junoon in New York, Amber India in San Francisco, and Cinnamon Club in London.
