Circles Thai - which started six years ago with a corner takeout in South Philadelphia - will open its third location at 429 South St. on Tuesday, Aug 4 with an open house: butlered menu items and comp champagne from 6 to 8: 30 p.m.
It's the former short-lived site of Tuk Tuk Real, the Mexican-Thai hybrid that chef-owner Alex Boonphaya ran with chef Silvestre Rincón-Tellez.
On Tuesday's menu will be Tom Yum Soup with Galangal, Kaffir Lime Leaves, Tamarind and Lime Juice in a Thai-herb Stock; Thai Beef Salad with Grilled Beef, Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Peppers, Onions and Scallions tossed with a Chili Lime Vinaigrette; Papaya Salad with Green Papaya, Carrots, Peanuts, Grape Tomatoes and Dried Shrimp Mortar in a Chili Lime Vinaigrette; Crab and Pork Dumplings with Minced Pork, Cabbage, Water Chestnuts and Jumbo Lump Crabmeat with Soy Vinaigrette; Garlic Basil Fried Rice with Peppers, Onions and Sweet Basil; Cheesesteak Spring Rolls with Seared Ribeye Steak, Sautéed onions, American Cheese and Spicy Ketchup for dipping; and Crab Rangoon with Jumbo Lump Crabmeat and Curried Cream Cheese and a Sweet Chili Plum Sauce.

Besides the original location at 1514 Tasker St., Boonphaya also has a Circles at 812 N. Second St. in Northern Liberties. All are BYOBs and are open for lunch and dinner daily.
