LOVE goes viral

Ted Passon's video for the Greater Philadelphia Tourism Marketing Corp. hits the Web, and it spreads like crazy.

Artist/videographer Ted Passon gathered couples on Feb. 8 to smooch for his cameras near the LOVE statue at JFK Plaza, and the Greater Philadelphia Tourism Marketing Corp. unleashed the completed video this morning -- first on its own site, Uwishunu.com and then on Viddler.com.

It's for a winter promotion involving Philadelphia hotels (www.gophila.com/love).

The GPTMC says the video was viewed more than 850 times in the first three hours on Viddler.
The video soon will land on other video-sharing sites, such as YouTube and Vimeo.

The GPTMC declined to release the budget (believed to be in the low four figures) for Passon's time, a generator, rights to the song "Love" by Anna Biller, equipment and a Love Park shooting permit -- yes, the quasi-governmental agency had to pay $250 for a permit from another agency.

The kissers puckered for free.

Passon, incidentally, made headlines when his car was flipped and destroyed in South Philly after the Phillies won the World Series.
