Lamberti and a chef take over Pizza Fresca
Breakfast is now on, near the Liberty Bell.
The branch of Luigi's Pizza Fresca that opened last year at 703 Chestnut St. has changed hands.
Aldo Lamberti, whose empire ranges from the casual Forno to the fancier Caffe Aldo Lamberti and Positano Coast, has taken over, as a partnership with Regulo Reyes, the former executive chef at Positano Coast. (He's been in the Lamberti orbit for years.)
The menu, which previous hit the pizzeria standards, will be augmented with Italian dishes.
Most significantly, the shop will open at 7 a.m. for breakfast, including egg sandwiches and the like. Closing time, for now, is 6 p.m.
