Luxury hotel delayed
Le Meridien, across from the Municipal Services Building and around the corner from the Convention Center expansion, needs about four more months.
Want to bunk or eat at the new Le Meridien hotel at 1421 Arch St., across from the Municipal Services Building and around the corner from the Convention Center expansion?
Hang on about four more months.
Though it has appeared finished for some time, Starwood's grand opening is now set for April 15.
A spokeswoman explained that unexpected issues arose with the restoration of the circa-1912 Georgian revival-style building, designed by Horace Trumbauer.
Initially, Le Meridien was up for Sept. 3 and then mid-October, more or less coinciding with the Palomar at 17th and Sansom Streets.
Its signature restaurant will be called Amuse, in the lobby.
