Misconduct Tavern's Logan Square branch is on tap

Misconduct Tavern's Logan Square branch - taking the corner of the Sterling building at 18th Street and JFK Boulevard, formerly City Garden restaurant - is due to open at 4 p.m. Monday, Aug. 17.

Misconduct Tavern's Logan Square branch - taking the corner of the Sterling building at 18th Street and JFK Boulevard, formerly City Garden restaurant - is due to open at 4 p.m. Monday, Aug. 17.

The look is bright and airy, thanks to the full-length windows facing JFK as well as the Comcast Center across the street, and the use of giant sails over the bar to impart a nautical theme.

The overall setup is pretty much the same as the original Misconduct at 1511 Locust St.: 12 draft beers (mostly seasonal and local) as well as a 50-plus bottle list and multiple TVs. Same menu, too.

The big difference - starting in a couple of weeks - will be early breakfast on weekdays, something that the area lacks. Weekend brunch will start at 10 a.m.

Co-owner Chuck Ercole says partner/executive chef Nick Mezzina has been named director of operations and will oversee both restaurants. Meg Roberts (of Smiths and Vesper) will be the general manager at Logan Square location. Partner Fleming Kerr will remain general manager at the original Rittenhouse location.
