Pinefish aims for a Wash West corner

Peter Dissin, last at 500 Degrees, is behind the modest seafooder.

Peter Dissin's solid history in the biz started years ago with his father's restaurants (including Henry's at 20th and Market Streets and the Calico Kitchen restaurants of yore). More recently, he operated Isabella in Conshohocken and the late 500 Degrees at 15th and Sansom Streets.

Dissin is now trying to win approval for a seafood-focused bistro called Pinefish, to take the former Pine Street Pizza shop at 12th and Pine Streets in Washington Square West.

Plans for Pinefish, intended as a neighborhood spot specializing in small plates that can be built into a meal, include a modest bar and a charcoal grill. "Peter and Pinefish are exactly what we were looking for, a passionate operator with an approachable neighborhood focus," said Jackie Balin of CBRE Fameco, who represented the landlord.

Dissin has no timetable.
