Reese Witherspoon movie drama
Actress Kathryn Hahn timed her labor (almost) perfectly.
Actress Kathryn Hahn, who plays Paul Rudd's pregnant secretary in the untitled James L. Brooks comedy starring Reese Witherspoon, Jack Nicholson and Owen Wilson, timed the birth of her second baby perfectly.
Well, almost.
She went into labor Saturday (7/25) and delivered a girl on Monday, two months early.
The site RadarOnline.com reported that production has been "delayed" and that Hahn's part will have to be recast. The site also said that she went into labor on the set and that Witherspoon and Nicholson would visit her in the hospital.
Not so.
My set source says that most of Hahn's work is in the can. It's a matter of rescheduling a day for the small pieces of scenes she has left. Production continues without her and her performance is still a part of the movie. Also, Nicholson's not bringing flowers. He left town last week and returns in September to finish his work.
And though the report had Hahn going into labor while working, the film's publicist Rob Harris says she was asleep in her hotel room about 1 a.m. when she decided to go to the hospital.
Meanwhile, Witherspoon and beau Jake Gyllenhaal were spotted having dinner Monday night at Alma de Cuba on Walnut Street.
As they emerged from the restaurant, Gyllenhaal saw a photographer and pulled Witherspoon back inside. It's believed that they slipped out the back. (Click to the second photo for a fine look at the backs of their heads.)
In still lighter news, Wilson was seen playing tennis at Drexel University, where scenes are being filmed.
