Restaurant notes: 'Hell's Kitchen' chef goes steakhouse route; Warsaw Cafe closes
Ed Battaglia will be chef in Haddonfield.
Ed Battaglia, the Edgewater Park culinary instructor and contestant on season seven of the Fox show Hell's Kitchen, has a new job in a new restaurant. Ralic's Steakhouse (26 S. Haddon Ave., Haddonfield, 856-616-1520) just replaced Veronica's, as owner Veronica Ralic yielded the floor to her cousin Mike Nikola and brother David Ralic. But you'll have to wait a few weeks: Ralic's will take a breather and will shut down after dinner Sunday, April 3 for a renovation. When it comes back May 12, Battaglia will be in the kitchen, serving a moderate-priced steakhouse menu Thursdays through Sundays. It's BYOB.
End of the road for Warsaw Cafe, which dished up Eastern European food on 16th Street in Center City since 1979. Its imminent departure was rumored since last fall, when it sold its liquor license. Act now if you want the borscht recipe, which remains on its website.
