Solomonov to guest-chef at Pat's King of Steaks
The Zahav chef has agreed to work the grill on Oct. 19.
Frank Olivieri at Pat's King of Steaks opens his grill to guest chefs who create customized sandwiches, with proceeds given to their favorite charities.
So far this year, the lineup has included health coach Sally Eisenberg, chefs Marc Vetri and Jose Garces and restaurateur Han Chiang of Han Dynasty.
Next up will be Michael Solomonov, part of the CookNSolo group, which owns Zahav, Abe Fisher, Dizengoff, and Federal Donuts. Solomonov and business partner Steven Cook are coming off a terrific year in which their Zahav cookbook was named the James Beard Foundation's cookbook of the year. Solomonov also was a finalist for the Beard's national best chef of the year.
From 5 to 8 p.m. Oct. 19, Solomonov will prepare steaks with shawarma spice, tehina, and pickled peppers. His charity is Broad Street Hospitality Collaborative.
