Garces to open a Buena Onda taco shop in King of Prussia
It's due to launch 11 a.m. Black Friday.
Jose Garces' second location of his Baja-themed taqueria, Buena Onda, is due to open Friday, Nov. 24 in the Savor food hall at King of Prussia Mall.
Mall-goers last week saw a temporary sign at the former location of The Taco Truck in the corner, reading "Bueno Onda coming soon."
Mall representatives at the time would not say definitely if it was Garces' operation, despite the misspelling. Garces' people confirmed the impending opening Monday.
The menu will include fish, shrimp, carnitas, and chicken tacos, plus Mission-style quesadillas. Tacos and chicken quesadillas are on the kids menu. The location will serve soft drinks. Fifty cents from every guacamole and bottled-water purchase will go to the Garces Foundation.
Buena Onda debuted in March 2015 at the Granary (1901 Callowhill St.), near the Barnes.
Another location was announced in summer 2016 for 1735 Chestnut St., but no timeline was ever released.
