Review: Yes, the commercials are annoying to anyone who lives here; we're not sure what naming a sandwich a "Philly" means. Was this decision made by a focus group in Idaho looking for something authentic? No one in Philadelphia calls a cheesesteak a "Philly."

As for the sandwich itself, it's a relatively tasty fast-food concoction. How could it not be tasty with so much fat and salt? However, any similarities to Pat's, Geno's or Tony Luke's are in some marketing intern's imagination. The "Ultimate Angus Philly" is roast beef (not steak), the onions and peppers are sparse (and if they were roasted by fire, there was thankfully no fire evident when the Gang arrived), and the Swiss isn't so much melted as slathered on - a sort of Swizz Whiz. The aioli does add a garlicky, pepper taste. And that "Philly" roll? Seems just like the "authentic Italian-style" roll on Arby's only slightly more artery-clogging three-cheese-and-bacon roast beef sandwich.
