Cupcakes on Tap

What do you get when you mix two of Philly's hottest trends? Beer cupcakes, of course. But these brewsy little cuties at Betty's Speakeasy aren't just a novelty - they have my vote for the best cupcakes in town. Especially with Philly Beer Week on the brain. First up from owner Liz Begosh and baker Adriane Appleby was the "Growler" chocolate cupcake brewed with Victory Storm King stout. Now there's the "Saison" apricot polenta cupcake with Yards saison, "Witty Pear" made with Philadelphia Brewing Co.'s Walt Wit, the "Brawler" made with spiced apple cake cooked with Yards Brawler folded in, and the "Squash Blossom" made with butternut squash roasted down in Weyerbacher's Imperial pumpkin ale. And now for their latest surprise, still unnamed, featuring Yuengling Porter with mint chocolate chip. It's set to debut today. That's what I call a perfect six-pack for the entire family.
