Vegan Thanksgiving dinners from Vedge at Whole Foods
Hearty vegan Thanksgiving dinners with cauliflower, mushroom-lentil stuffing, and even dessert can be preordered from Whole Foods.
Vegans and friends of vegans have another option for Thanksgiving dinner this year: takeaway meals for two, created by the chefs at Vedge restaurant and prepared at Whole Foods, that can easily be added to a larger feast or prepared on their own.
The meals, which can be preordered and picked up from Whole Foods stores nationwide from Nov. 20 through Nov. 23, offer food that's all about vibrant, colorful vegetables, not tofu or meat substitutes.
Instead of turkey, carve into a crunchy, roasted whole cauliflower glazed in tangy mustard sauce. Also included is a pound of savory stuffing made with lentils, onions, and flavorful mushrooms; rainbow carrots with herbs and sauerkraut; and a pound of "cheesy" rutabaga-and-potato mash that tastes as creamy and indulgent as though it were filled with butter.
The meals even come with a rich chocolate toffee cake, complete with toffee sauce to drizzle over the top.
The meals are satisfying, delicious, and so tasty that the sides could pass as regular Thanksgiving attractions. It's all ready-to-eat; just heat and serve.
Vegan meal for two, $39.99 at Whole Foods. Preorder at wholefoodsmarket.com.
