PA Cider Fest returns for a second round
PA Cider Fest, the only event of its kind in Pennsylvania, will come off from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 24, as cider makers, cheese makers, other artisans and vendors gather at Hauser Estate in Biglerville, Pa.
How about dem apples: The Gettysburg area is getting into all kinds of cider in a big way.
PA Cider Fest, the only event of its kind in Pennsylvania, will come off from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 24, as cider makers, cheese makers, other artisans and vendors gather on the rolling hills of the Hauser Estate in Biglerville, Pa.
It's aimed at ages 21 and older.
Among the cider houses will be Armstrong Valley Winery, Arsenal Cider House, Bad Apple Ciderwerks, Big Hill Ciderworks, Banters Hard Cider, Broad Mountain Vineyard, Frecon's Cidery, Dressler Estate, Good Intent Cider, Hardball Cider, Jack's Hard Cider, Knockin' Noggin Cidery & Winery, Kurant Cider, Lancaster County Cider, Original 13 Ciderworks, Ploughman Farm Cider, Reid's Winery & Cider House, Stone & Key Cellars, The Vineyard at Hershey and Wyndridge Farm.
Pennsylvania cheese makers will create unique pairings for this event, including cheeses washed in cider. Look for Alpine Heritage Creamery, Birchrun Hills Farm, Goat Rodeo Farm & Dairy, Keswick Creamery, Misty Creek Goat Dairy, The Farm at Doe Run and the Pennsylvania Cheese Guild.
Food trucks will be on-site at Hauser Estate, including Gary's Pig Roast, It's All Greek to You, Mad Dash, Potato Coop and Uncle Moe's Soul Food. Demonstrations, tours, pairings, workshops and seminars will be open to all.
Before June 23, tickets are $25 online; on June 24, tickets are $30 at the gate only.
Proceeds benefit the Pennsylvania Cider Guild, a trade organization formed in 2014 to bring together cider makers, cideries, cider enthusiasts and associated businesses to have a united voice in the state of Pennsylvania.
